How it works
An elopement is a wedding with the guest list taken out. Often it is just the two of you, an officiant and me; sometimes parents come, or a dog.
We plan it together: where to go, what time the light is good there, how long the walk is, and where to go instead if the cloud comes down. In the Lakes that usually means a fell top at sunrise with a valley chapel as the backup. Abroad, I have shot elopements on Icelandic lava fields and Scottish beaches.
Midweek dates cost the same as weekends and the places are emptier. Three hours is enough for the ceremony and portraits in two or three spots without anyone feeling rushed.
